1,000 cops completing B.A.'s….you're next !

The Peace Officers Association of Los Angeles County (POALAC) recognizes our members desire to enrich their personal lives and professional careers through education.  With this in mind, POALAC has partnered with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department University (LASDU) to provide our members with convenient and cost effective educational opportunities.

Through LASDU, POALAC members can obtain an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree, in a variety of disciplines, including Business, Homeland Security, Public Administration, Occupational Studies, Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Law, and Education.

The Colleges and Universities associated with the LASDU consortium include:

California State University Long Beach; National University; Woodbury University; Touro University International (On-line); Tiffin University (On-line); North-Central University (On-line); East Los Angeles Community College, West Los Angeles Community College, College of the Canyons Community College; Irvine University School of Law; Abraham Lincoln University School of Law; and Pacific University School of Law.  Each school is fully accredited.

For your convenience, classes are held throughout the Southern California area.  Additionally, customized programs can be developed specifically for you or your agency.  As an added convenience, many of the programs are also offered in 100% online formats.  Finally, due to the large number of students participating in these programs, significant tuition discounts are available.

For additional information regarding degree programs or other services provided by the Sheriff’s University, visit the web page at www.lasd.org/sites/lasdu/ or contact a member of the staff at (562) 946-7204. The staff can also be contacted via e-mail at lasdu@lasd.org.
