Sheriff James Barton walked into the bar and asked the group causing the ruckus to step outside.  A troublemaker named Caddick took a shot at him but Barton exchanged fire.  One of Barton’s bullets found its mark by punching a hole in Caddick’s lung, nearly killing him.  Sheriff Barton won the gunfight, but was soon arraigned for allegedly enforcing the law in a reckless manner.  Fortunately, he was later acquitted, as he had acted in self-defense....

 The Past: The 9-11 Commission Report details the radio communication travesty of September 11, 2001.  Once officers knew that the towers were beginning to fall, they attempted to notify other public safety personnel inside the buildings.  Tragically, the officers were unable to warn firefighters and others because they could not access the other agencies' radio channels.  They stood by helplessly and watched in horror as the World Trade Center Towers collapsed....
